New Look

Got a bit bored with the old look so I thought I’d take the easy way out and click my way to another theme.  Let me know what you think.

TV Mount, Check!

Got the TV all mounted up on the stand.  I must say that for a cheapy stand it sure looks a lot nicer than it costs.  And as for the reference picture below, the TV on that board must be a 30 incher or something, because I think my TV leaves about an inch or so all around.

Downsides, my electronics get hot in the enclosed spaces!  I actually had to remove one of the shelves and leave the door open, otherwise the PS3 fan was running in high gear all the time.  Going to have to come up with a ventilation system for the unit, especially for when I get my AV receiver…

Thanks Craig for all your help getting the mount installed!

Progress…

Who knew home ownership could be so expensive/tiring? Pretty much most of our weekends lately have been filled with things to do around the house. I guess in a sense we’re still trying to make it feel more like our home. Which of course entails spending money like there’s no tomorrow! The recent shopping list:

  • Master Bedroom Set
  • Guest Bedroom Set
  • Miscellaneous Tools/Towels/Lamps
  • Door Locks
  • TV & Stand
  • Washer/Dryer
  • Fridge

Whew, I don’t think I’ve caught everything, but you get the gist of it. On top of that there is random demolishing that Darren’s been helping me with, as well as other stuff to do, like fixing cracked grout, or leaky toilets, or… ahh, it never ends.

Oh, and I just got most of my stuff packed and moved last weekend.

Yeah, I guess we’ve been pretty busy…

Oh, here’s a picture of our TV stand. Not too shabby for cheap furniture actually. And it perfectly matches the Crate & Barrel furniture from our registry.  Now I gotta finish putting it together and mount the TV to it…
